MORNING SPEAKER - David Courey
David has pastored for 30 years and is now a PAOC Global Worker serving as a seminary professor in Belgium. He’s passionate about Jesus, teaching the Bible and his family! Stuck between the centuries, he sometimes wonders why all books don’t come with a free e-version... and vice versa.
EVENING SPEAKER - Derrick Hamre
Derrick is a BC boy. He grew up and was mentored at Evangel in Kelowna; he began pastoring his first church in 1989 in Wainwright, AB. After ordination Derrick returned to BC to work at WPBC (Summit Pacific College) where he created, implemented and carried on a discipleship/ministry program called Omega Challenge. During those 6 years, he worked in many outreaches, churches and a dozen different nations. His heart for global needs and the potential for releasing ordinary people into an extraordinary mission began at that time.
Returning to pastoral ministry in 1997 by taking the leadership of Emmanuel Church, West Kelowna, they saw the church grow from 50 to about 700 people. In 2014 Derrick answered the Lord’s call and accepted the Lead Pastor position at Christian Life Assembly, Langley. CLA is a congregation of 3500 people in three campuses in the heart of one of the most spiritually needy regions in North America.
Derrick has been the national chair for the French Canada Guiding Group, Mission Canada, and has served on the DLT (District Leadership Team of the PAOC for BC & Yukon) for over 10 years. He is often asked to speak at camps, churches and colleges. Recently Derrick has been working with the PAOC Revitalization group to help bring health and multiplication to our Network churches. This taps into his passion to see healthy churches multiply. Derrick is passionate about prayer and the truths in God’s Word. His exegetical approach with high application for principles makes his speaking relevant.
Derrick is married to Sara-Lee (Gaetz); they have 3 children, Tori (and Devon), Simone, and Joel and one grand-daughter, Karen.
